Engineering solutions to enhance material performance in environmentally friendly applications. Our group focuses on the design of interfaces to induce more natural cellular response using bio-inspired materials and surfaces. We have demonstrated successfully the concepts in marine antifouling and tissue engineering. Our materials development expands from the low modulus siloxanes, hydrogels, thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers. Our technologies require understanding of the structure-property relationships that dictate the bioresponse, long term stability and environmental impact. We continue to investigate the fundamental science in these areas with aspirations for improved health for our people and planet.
